the Trailer for the Video Game 'SHADOW OF LORDS ADVANCE Castlevania'
As you know, MercurySteam is one of the great Spanish developers still working at full blast today. Directed by Enric Alvarez, are themselves the first national group to take control of a foreign saga as important as Castlevania.
Although it was initially planned as a remake of the first part, the difficulty to adapt it to the new generation led to a radical change of scenery and a new starting point. Thus, we control Gabriel Belmont, a member of the Brotherhood of Light who must live with the memory of the brutal death of his wife Marie at the hands of a werewolf.
Set in medieval times, the world is being ravaged by a demonic influence that binds the souls of men without any possibility of redemption. There is only one solution: find the three fragmenos of the "mask of God, protected by so-called Lords of Shadow, which will be the ultimate goal of Gabriel.
Lords of Shadow is intended to be the first 3D Castlevania really noticeable after disastrous attempts as Castlevania 64. Mercury Steam has chosen a development closer to the style of God of War apart from the element that initiated the great gamer Symphony of the Night on PlayStation One and Sega Saturn. So, Gabriel, whip in hand, must move defeating all kinds of enemies, ranging from werewolves, giant spiders and even trolls.
It drew our attention, especially the influence of the Colossuss Shadow has had on Mercury Steam, and is most impressive that the clashes taking place in front of colossal creatures that require Gabriel manage to access their vital points. They are, by far, the best seen in the genre.
No doubt Lords of Shadow is on the right path, taking even Hideo Kojima as a consultant, but our most important concern now is whether it will be a decent Castlevania, beyond its undeniable virtues.
